LUDHIANA: When Ashwani, 50, and Arpana Kochhar, 44, had tied the knot on October 8, 1986, the air of terror in Punjab had forced them to conduct the marriage during the day.
The long pending wish to get married again in the evening was fulfilled on the 25th anniversary of their marriage on Saturday. The celebration was organized by their kids, Ankit and Akhil, at a city based hotel.
Ashwani, a resident of sector 39 and a businessman, said they sailed through all the unfavourable tides because of a good mutual understanding.

Ashwani gifted gold and diamond jewellery to Arpana while she gifted a bracelet and a tour package to him. Ashwani recalled the best moment of his married life when Arpana had gifted him a scooter on his first birthday after marriage.
Their arranged marriage was finalized once Ashwani and Arpana saw each other but interestingly, did not utter a word to communicate. Ankit and Akhil said their parents are an inspiration for them.
On Saturday, the couple followed the same ceremonial process they had followed to tie the knot 25 years ago. The only 'extra affair' this time was their performance on a duet. Ashwani came dressed in a trendy suit while Arpana chose a western outfit for the day.
